our story
ParentsDigest is born.
"Mom, can we go to the bookstore?" Ever since I was a little girl I have loved reading books. One of my earliest memories is sitting on my mom's lap trying to sound out the words in one of my favorite Dr. Seuss book. When I could read by myself, I would curl up under my covers late at night with the latest Nancy Drew. I always wondered how my mother made the bed with the book and flashlight in it! Years later, after finishing final exams, I would run to my neighborhood bookstore and dive into the latest trashy novel.
Three under 3, Yikes! Naturally, when I found myself expecting our daughter, Katie, I turned to parenting books for guidance. When the twins arrived a few years later, I was desperate for advice but found myself short on time and energy. I can still picture myself juggling my book, Will and Adam's baby bottles, and Katie's Barbie doll - not very effectively I might add. Then a question came to mind: Why doesn't anyone summarize these books? A few years went by, and I found myself with a bit more time on my hands. I began the task myself. I shared my summaries with fellow moms and ParentsDigest.com was born.
